Southern Dutchess Country Club is private 9-hole golf course, 6100-yard, located in Beacon, NY.  The course opened in 1902. 

We are looking for a golf course superintendent.  This position would be ideal for an assistant with a least 3 years golf course experience and is looking to move into a leadership role.  Must have strong operational management skills, experience with budgets, and attention to detail in all aspects of the ground maintenance.

Requirements: Turf degree preferred.  Applicant must have a New York State Pesticide License.   

Salary: $60,000 to $70,000 per year depending on previous experience.

Position Overview

Golf and Commercial Specialist Sales Representative

We are currently looking to add a dynamic Lawn and Golf Sales Representative to our passionate team of tree care professionals. Your office is outdoors, and you get a new view every day!

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

Golf And Commercial

  • Maintain Current and build new relationships within the Golf, Higher education and Commercial industries while promoting and providing estimates for Arboriculture services based on their needs in Westchester County.
  • Work Directly with the District Manager to help provide directions where our services can help preserve, safeguard, and beautify these places of Relaxation, Education and Business.
  • Provide Plant health care programs to courses to help them preserve and protect their valuable Landscapes.
  • Provide Tree surgery estimates addressing the facilities needs while recommending sound arboriculture practices that ensures tree preservation.
  • Work closely with the local Davey business developer to bring innovative and diversified Davey services that provide beneficial information to clientele.
  • Set up and provide supervision to Crews assigned to your clients.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • Love of the outdoors
  • Required: Valid driver’s license
  • Regional plant and horticulture knowledge
  • Good people skills; self-motivated; computer proficient and organized.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced with tree care, hazard tree evaluation, integrated pest management and industry approved tree care practices.
  • Needs to be Obtained: Relevant pesticide, ISA Certified Arborist ® and related licenses and certificates.

New York Golf Course Foundation: Executive Director


 

The New York Golf Course Foundation (NYGCF) is a nonprofit established in 2018 to promote sustainable golf management efforts in New York State with an emphasis on protecting water quality.  This nonprofit grew out of the New York State Best Management Practices (BMPs) project, which began in 2012 and established the New York State Golf Best Management Practices (BMPs).  Operating via donations from clubs, golf associations and state grants, the foundation works together with Cornell University, the New York Department of Environmental Conservation, and lawmakers to create educational programs, fund research and promote golf’s commitment to the environment.

 Description:

The New York Golf Course Foundation (NYGCF) seeks an Executive Director (ED) to lead our growing non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable golf course management and protecting water quality across New York State.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will be responsible for overseeing all operations, finances, fundraising, marketing, and strategic growth of NYGCF.  The ED will build partnerships, enhance our public image and execute projects fulfilling our mission of environmental stewardship through golf.

We are looking for an innovative and driven leader to optimize non-for-profit performance.  The ED will expand our reach, improve financial results and administer our mission-focused programs.  The ideal candidate has not-for-profit management expertise, business acumen, strong communication abilities and a passion for our cause.

Responsibilities:

- Work closely with the Board on governance, policy, fundraising, and visibility 

- Lead strategic planning and implementation

- Oversee annual budgeting and financial management 

- Serve as primary spokesperson and relationship builder with stakeholders

- Fundraise and develop new revenue streams

- Oversee marketing, communications, and public relations

Requirements:

- Knowledge in Golf Course Management

- Experience in Association Board governance

- Budgeting, analysis, and financial reporting skills

- Ability to convey vision, strategy, and organizational mission

- Relationship building entrepreneur with drive and strong work ethic

Compensation:

- Compensation is currently at $20,000 per annum

- Time commitment can vary but averages 10 hours per week

- Ample room for growth of salary through fundraising and new revenue streams
