Job description

Start or further your career in the equipment industry by joining our team here at MTE as an On the Road Sales Representative. MTE is a growing, family owned, equipment supplier in the Northeast. MTE is seeking multiple individuals to fill new sales positions at our company.

MTE has recently signed with Husqvarna as their exclusive dealer of Robotic Mowing products for golf and sport turf Facilities in the Northeast. A primary focus of these positions will be bringing this new technology to the marketplace. This will involve prospecting, demonstrating, and working with customers through installations of their new GPS guided robotic mowers. Demand is high for this revolutionary product; applicants must have previous golf course maintenance experience so that we can hit the ground running.

In addition to robotic mowing, representatives will be responsible for promoting and supporting the various other equipment brands that we offer. This includes Jacobsen Turf Equipment, Giant Loaders, Ventrac Tractors, Cushman Vehicles, Smithco Turf equipment and other allied lines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market research to identify potential customers and generate leads

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers

• Meet or exceed sales targets on a regular basis

• Present and demonstrate product features and benefits to prospects

• Negotiate and close sales deals with customers

• Provide excellent customer service and support

• Prepare sales reports and forecasts for management

 

Requirements

• Proven experience in the Golf/Turf Equipment Industry

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills

• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Self-motivated and target-driven

• Proficiency in MS Office

Compensation:

• Pay: Starting at $80,000 per year, no cap on commissions. Base is negotiable commensurate with experience.

Golf Course Superintendent: Battenkill Country Club

 

The Battenkill Country Club in Greenwich, NY is seeking a Superintendent of Greens and Maintenance for its centennial season next year. The position will serve a 9-hole golf course that is open to the public, with 250+ members. The Superintendent will oversee and manage the Battenkill Country Club golf course maintenance operation and work cooperatively with other departments to ensure the safety of staff, members and guests.

Experience Required

  • College degree in turf grass management or extensive experience in the field.
  • Experience in golf course maintenance, preferably as head superintendent or first assistant.
  • New York State pesticide applicator license preferred but not required.
  • Experience with operating and repairing irrigation systems.
  • Some mechanical ability to oversee the maintenance of the equipment.
  • Ability to manage, train and supervise maintenance crew.

Essential Responsibilities

  1. Supervises Battenkill CC course maintenance staff.
  2. Maintains grounds and golf course to be in proper playing condition.
  3. Maintains course maintenance equipment.
  4. Operate within all local, state, and federal laws for storage and application of chemicals.
  5. Supervises all planting, fertilizing and care of turf, plants, shrubs, trees, and other facilities on the golf course.
  6. Supervises operation of the equipment repair shop; records all maintenance on course.
  7. Develops and maintains drainage, irrigation, and watering systems.
  8. Communicates as necessary with the Greens Committee and Club Pro to discuss conditions of facilities, maintenance plans, and scheduled events. Keeps members informed about current and future maintenance activities.
  9. Ensures that chemicals, petroleum, and other controlled products are used, stored, and disposed of in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. Maintains required OSHA records and strives to minimize the use of chemicals and petroleum products.
  10. Conducts all work in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards, guidelines, personal protection equipment etc.
  11. Complies with all Club policies and procedures.
  12. Perform other duties as appropriate.

Equipment Manager: Town of Wallkill Golf Club

Position Summary:

 

The responsibility of the Mechanic is to assist in maintaining the excellent playing condition of the golf course. The Mechanic will perform major and minor mechanical repairs on a variety of diesel and gasoline powered equipment under the general direction of the Superintendent.

 

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

 

1-3 years Mechanic experience required:

  • Knowledge of small engine repair
  • Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
  • Ability to inspect equipment and related component Must be highly motivated, goal driven and self-starter
  • Must have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and effective preventative maintenance program in conjunction with operators to reduce mechanical failure and poor performance on all golf course equipment
  • Repair of all equipment and golf carts
  • Keep repair and maintenance records on all equipment
  • Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical problems for all maintenance equipment
  • Set heights and sharpen blades on the cutting units. Make cuts, welds and braze as needed in repairing equipment and mowing units
  • Price comparison on all related parts and materials before ordering
  • Maintain a clean shop area and keep it orderly and efficient
  • Maintain an adequate supply of parts through requisitions to the Purchasing Manager
  • Monitor gas and fuel levels in storage tanks
  • Assure proper disposal of all related hazardous materials

Working Conditions:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is often required to stand, walk, push, pull, lift grasp, bend and kneel for five hours at a time without sitting.
  • The employee frequently is required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, crawl, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls.
  • The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 30lbs occasionally.
  • Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Moderate exposure to extreme cold, heat, working outdoors, chemicals, pesticides, gasoline, vibration, mechanical hazards and electrical hazards. Daily exposure to dusts and pollens
  • Noise level is typically loud
  • Work extended hours during golf and holiday season
  • Work weekends and holidays
